TimeMaker Matrix Lesson 4 - Redirected Items and Plans
TM Matrix Lesson 4 - Redirected Items and Plans
Prerequisites:
1. Study The Task Box Lesson.
This short tutorial will give you a better understanding of what happens with Redirected Items and plans in the Matrix. As you know, A Production Task can be redirected, but also, any production Item can be the father to sub Items and any plan can have sub plans and sub production tasks.
In this example, an Owner sent a Production Item to a Performer. The Performer Redirected it and then that person redirected it again and so on. This is ok because the original owner can still easily keep track of the production item and make sure it will get done by the specified target date. It’s all visible in the Matrix, and we’ll find out how!
A Production Item can be a child in a Plan or be the Redirected sub-item.
When you select a Plan or Production Task with child items notice that the Task Box Headings get highlighted with the color Chocolate. See? Also, notice that at the top the “See this Plan” icon gets highlighted at the Matrix Tool Bar. Clicking on this button will show the parent plan or parent production task, with its sub items. Clicking the “Remove Plan Filter” icon will show the full Matrix.
When you select a Redirected Item itself, or an item that is part of a plan. The parent Task Box Heading gets highlighted in the color magenta. Also, notice that at the top, the “See Parent Plan” icon gets highlighted at the Matrix Tool Bar. Clicking this button will show the Parent Plan or Item as well as all the other sub items. Clicking the “Remove Plan Filter” icon will show the full Matrix.
The main point here is that nothing gets lost. You can see any Redirected Items, Plans or Sub Items and it’s all in the Matrix, at your fingertips at any time.
